H.O.P.E. Wants to Hear from You

One of our major goals is to encourage persons to ask questions . Another is to speak up for what makes sense regarding the subject of education. Simple things are often hard to accomplish unless you know that others are speaking to the same issues.

We would like to hear from you. Please e-mail your concerns, information, and thoughts to us. We are putting together a book about those who are confused, aware and/or involved [or all of the above].

Our e-mail address is: Forhope1@aol.com

The Academic Pathway

One prominent feature of American Education is that non-academic coursework tends to dominate curriculum in K-12 education. Some are alarmed at this trend; others are not. We at H.O.P.E. have a solution: an intra-school system of choice called The Academic Pathway.

Simply put, when a child enters grade one, (or thereafter if well designed by the school) he/she can choose between the Social Adjustment model or one which focuses on sequential academic learning (The Optimal Match--Wm. Durden of Johns Hopkins) in the core subjects. We recommend curricula such as Core Knowledge, Saxon Math, The Writing Road to Reading. This Model has been presented nationally by Dr. William Bart of the U. of Minnesota.
